Who We Are

A bit of history of Gost Standard

Gost Standard S.r.l. was founded out of the experience of Dr. Sergio Russo, former manager at the Italian Ministry of Finance’s Customs Department, who lived and worked in Russia for several years.

From the very beginning, the company positioned itself as a bridge between Italy and the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, helping exporters navigate complex certification systems.

Over time, the business expanded its presence beyond Russia and Kyrgyzstan to include offices in Italy and Spain, along with a network of partners in several countries, consolidating itself as a trusted reference point for companies looking to enter Eurasian markets.

Gost Standard today

Today, Gost Standard has grown into a group of around 140 professionals, with accredited laboratories and certification bodies in Russia and Kazakhstan, as well as offices in Italy and Spain. The group also works closely with trusted technical and commercial partners outside the EAEU, in Tashkent and Baku, further strengthening its regional reach.

This structure allows Gost Standard to manage all phases of the certification process under one roof: acting as the applicant (based in Russia and Kyrgyzstan), carrying out laboratory testing, and issuing certificates. By integrating every step of the process, Gost Standard reduces bureaucracy and avoids the delays typical of large international certification companies or smaller agencies that depend on multiple local partners.

This efficiency, together with our international presence, are among the reasons to choose us — but they are not the only ones, and perhaps not even the most important.

Why (really) choose us

It may sound unusual, but efficiency and an international profile are not our most important values.

If you’ve already worked with agencies like ours, you’ll understand what comes next.

Entering a new market is always complicated. Understanding its rules is even harder—especially if you don’t know the language and can’t even read the alphabet.

It’s normal to feel ignorant, even defenseless.

And yes, many take advantage of having far more information than their clients.

But
just to give you a few examples:

❌ We won’t assign a 3-year validity to a certificate if it can actually be valid for 5, just to make you pay more.

❌ We won’t tell you your products were tested in Russia if they were actually tested in Kyrgyzstan.

✅ We show you how to check the validity of your certificates online, right here on our website. It’s simple and transparent. But no one else does it. Why?

In the end, it’s what we say on our homepage:

You do not need a Certificate

You need a partner to help you export to Central Asia with safety, efficiency, and transparency.

This is much more than just a certificate.
