It is possible to take part in large-scale projects in Uzbekistan without undergoing a proper certification process.
What type of Technical Passport is requested in Uzbekistan?
In large-scale industrial projects in Uzbekistan, there is usually a final, comprehensive certification managed either by the end customer (more common) or, less frequently, by the main contractor. Under this overall certification, the individual components of the system —even critical ones— are not usually required to be certified under GOST UZ Regulations.
Instead, these components must be accompanied by a Technical Passport for Uzbekistan, which is accepted as a valid document for customs clearance. Without the TP, equipment cannot be imported into Uzbekistan.
What are the differences compared to a standard Technical Passport format?
Each project in Uzbekistan comes with its own specific requirements and TP templates, depending on the contracting parties. However, there are some recurring features. Most often, the TP includes not only technical data but also customs-related documentation, such as:
- Certificate of origin
- Shipping list
- Commercial invoice
- International product certificates
Another difference is that the Technical Passport for Uzbekistan is always multilingual, generally prepared in English–Russian. The Uzbek language is not commonly required.
